tester of primer and experiments

So Ive been going out and about to get video clips to see what will work best and at the moment im just working with just simple life moments such as parks and working with just video instead of images just incase.

Half way though george's project

So im half way though the film project and I have been making my film with sucsess at the moment I am working towards the idea of life and memories with out phones and at the moment Im wondering how to illustrate this with video.
Option A.

This image is just with the blured image but i feel that it might not show off that life with out phone but it does show how it blurs memories in life.









Option B.

This option is good it adds the first option and this option of putting the phone over the top of the image together which i feel seems to work Bu ti will have to see with ym class mates weather this works or not.










Option C.

option c is just a image with out it being blured and just the phone image just to test it but i feel that option b is just a lot better than then rest so I will try with this in the video and go from there.

Preimer for georges project

My preimer for the next project has told me to pick a a fact or a piece of information that I could work on and a archive of things i can work from such as video clips, pictures and so on.

My fact that ive chosen to work from is;

On average we spend 90 minutes a day

on our smartphones, and that adds up to

27 days a year which then adds up to

4 years of our lifes.

When I read this I was really shocked and so went and found some pictures of maybe people using there phones and just general pictures of phones being used.

One thing Ive noticed that Ive done with out really thinking is that Ive found images of people being anti social,a nd i think Ill go with this sort of frame of mind as i continue the project as I have clearly thought of this with out thinking of it in a way. So Ive also found some inspirational pieces of art related to this project that will hopefully help me out.

I found these images really humous and has a really nice take on the way we really do use our phones way to much and is a sort of wake up sign really.

After seeing these imagery I went ahead a did a quick drawing of my intake on this mater.

What Ive done here is drawn loads of people in a circle almost and they represent society and they are all on there phones and are all connected with this "wire" like image and then its shows one of them breaking off into freedom as you will and with a happy face on him.

Final outcome of core project.

This is my final outcome, Ive had to really just go for it in this project as we really didn't have enough time to worry about certain aspects of the piece, but I did experiment with waves and the characters as I will go on to explain. 

So the story i ended up going for was the main story of the Aesop books and that was the whales the dolphins and the gudgeon, and th reason I ended up going for this book was due to the workshop and experimenting with the colours and due to the amount of time I really just had to go for it.

My character designing was the thing I spent the most amount of time on due to it being my strong skill that I know I can illustrate well, and the way I did that was with my technique that ive been working on recently which is starting with the real life drawing of the main piece which in this case is the whales and then simplyfiling it until it is to my style and I feel it works really efestively and will be using this though out my next two years and maybe my career.

Another aspect of my piece is the waves and the thing I really couldn't get to crips with but in the end I used the same method as I did for my characters and well really worked it seemed and worked well along side the characters.

One thing that my tutor for that day said that was really the only thing wrong with my piece was the size as i did go for an A0 piece and because this is my first time Ive worked this big i didn't really take this into mind but now but tutor has told me this and brought me up on this so now for the future Ill know now.

Analysis of work so far.

After my tutorial today it was clear whilst talking about my work that i really have to start thinking about the next stage. The next stage being experimentation and development, so what Im going to do now is look over the work Ive done so far and pick certain elements for that and move on with my work from there.
From the drawing/book workshop I really liked the collage elements of the small book I did but with a certain twist.

With this the best element I feel is the way Ive cut out the shapes and then the material of the card has given the shapes depth and has also given me a new way of looking at my work and style so I may use this to experiment this week.

Another part of the workshop I liked the task they set us in the ways we illustrate the books, so one of the tasks was to draw from the view of the character and one of the books was " The frogs who demanding a king" and in this I did the two characters of a frog and zeus.

I found using this view made my work really abstract and something that I could go into but really depends on what size paper I use or I could use this but in mini to tell the story in a big illustration.

So the two stories I want to work on is the dolphins and whales and gudgeon, and also the The frogs who demanding a king, with working with these two stories I feel I can focus more on the work and really figure out what I want to do.

Friday Fiction Workshop Primer; Homework.

Have been told to make three books out of any material we wish, as long as the three are small,medium and large. For my first one I'm going to make the large one, and will be making it out of cardboard.

So what I'm doing here is really the only way I can think of that would work anyway of putting cardboard together and thats by placing five black tie bands though the side part of the cardboard its self. The final result is good and seems to work well together, but will find out if its any good when I come to draw with it on friday.

The next book is sort of a side book for an experiment, and with this ill be using polystyrene just to see if it works but will not be one of my 3 books.

Once again I've gone for the black ties again as they seemed to work well with the cardboard and the two materials seem to share in the same sort of thickness. The book its self seemed to work at first as you can see in the first image but when i kept opening it, it seemed to fall apart where I've made the holes as you can see in the second image but I feel I can still take it to the workshop friday as it still may work a little bit.
